BBAW Registration

To borrow Ari’s words (Reading in Color), it does feel awkward to nominate yourself for an award. Oh well.

I registered for Best Blog Appreciation Week in the Cultural Blog category (I had to pick a niche) and New Blog one.

Here are the links I’m providing for the Cultural Blog Category (3 posts must be reviews, recommendation or analysis of a specific title, 2 others are up to the blogger):

o YA Review: Gringolandia, by Lyn Miller-Lachmann

o YA Review: Eighth-Grade Super Zero, by Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich

o Foreign Settings: Yasmin’s Hammer Review, by Ann Malaspina and Doug Chayka (Illus.)

o Monday Interview: Publisher Jason Low, of LEE & LOW BOOKS

o DIPNET: Diversity in Publishing Network

Links for the New Blog category:

o Picture Book Review: A LION’s MANE, by Navjot Kaur & Jaspreet Sandhu

o YA Review: Eighth-Grade Super Zero, by Olugbemisola Rhuday-Perkovich

o In Case You Missed it: Gay Pride, Elephant and Future Funk

o Foreign Books Worth Knowing: The Dark Child, by Camara Laye

o Friday Special: Haiti

Have a great week (mine is quite busy),

  3. Thanks for including the review of Gringolandia in your nomination packet. And good luck with the BBAW Awards!

  4. As awkward as it may feel, sometimes you just have to put yourself (and your blog) out there. I’m so glad that you believe in what you are doing strongly enough to put it out there!! YAY!

    • Thanks, Heather. To be honest, I think I might be the harshest critic of this blog, though I don’t do it in public. I will improve it one small step at a time. Time is what I’m struggling the most with for now, but it will get better. πŸ™‚
