Hi,
hope the week started out well for everyone. 🙂
My finals are over and I’m learning to enjoy a week of semi-freedom, i.e. I’m catching up on posts (writing and scheduling them, etc…), on reading, reviewing and uh, wrapping up a writing program I started six months ago. More on the latter in a few weeks.
These past weeks I took an art class with award-winning art education professor, children’s book illustrator, author, editor, art director, designer and fine-artist, Dr. Mira Reisberg. For a very long time I’ve been tossing ideas for a logo for the blog, but of course I was also aware that I needed much guidance. Mira’s classes came highly recommended by a few illustrator friends, former students of hers. I contacted her; she said her Transformational Art Practices class allowed students to focus on a project of their choice and that it would be perfect for my logo’s needs. As soon as an opportunity presented (understand as soon as my budget more or less allowed it ~ thanks goodness her workshops are affordable), I enrolled.
For more information on Mira’s classes, included online consultation (and upcoming workshops), and to contact her, visit her class’ webspage: http://www.artspractice.com/current_arts_courses.html
Fast forward: I experimented with various media: acrylic, collage, scratch board, just to name a few; bounced ideas back and forth with Mira (precious feedback on her side, served by her years of experience). See the result below. I’m loving it! What do you think?
I LOVE it, Nathalie! What a fantastic job you did. Congrats!!

@ Linda, Deborah, NiaRaie, Mercedes, Karen, Zetta, Ann: Praise Mira for being an amazing teacher. I still have a long way to go, but yeah, getting my hands (and clothes) messy was fun. 😀
@ Candy: being reacquainted with sleep was the most delightful feeling. A state of felicity I had forgotten. I’m working on a new template for the blog and a Facebook page. I hope it won’t take too long. BTW, I’m LOVIIING TALL STORY! Am almost at the end! 🙂
