Hi everyone,
1- In case you missed it, this is just a quick reminder about a super exciting upcoming event in the twittosphere: a monthly diverse book chat hosted by librarian Edi Campbell of Crazy QuiltEdi, as well as several prominent book lovers and bloggers. The event will take place every first Tuesday of the month, and the hashtag will be #largefears. To read more about it, including what prompted her to start this initiative, head over to Edi’s blog.

2- Last but not least, the Virginia Association of School Librarians has a call for submission regarding the 2016 VAASL Diverse Book Award: “Calling all authors and publishers of PreK-12 diverse books – including small presses, mid-size independent publishers, university presses, and self-published authors.” VAASL Diverse Book Award is a not-for-profit diverse book programs, working in cooperation with the We Need Diverse Books grassroot campaign. Click here for further information and to nominate books you deem exceptional.
If there’s an additional upcoming event or announcement that I missed (and I’m sure there is), please share with a comment. I’m traveling this month so won’t be able to update much, but thanks to you the information will be shared!
